UPDATED WITH TIME CHANGE: Blackhawk Football: High School will begin practice on August 3rd from 7:00-9:30 in the morning for the first two weeks in Woonsocket at the old game field by the cemetery. Beginning on August 14th, practice will go from 4:00-6:00 with Junior High starting practice on the 14th as well.

Reminder: Updated physical forms for all students entering 7th and 10th grades must be updated prior to participating in any sports. Please get your physicals scheduled before your seasons begin. Here is a link to access forms. https://5il.co/1vtgx

Thank You to the 2023 SCW state track athletes for representing us at State! Jeff defended his State Class A Boys High Jump title winning it for the second year in a row! He was also awarded the Gold Medal Award for winning the high jump for all 3 classes with a jump of 6'7.25 Thank You Cody, Tyson, Toby, and Liz for giving it your all and competing with "The Best of Them"!

Congratulation to Ellie Evans who was invited and attended the Academic Excellence Recognition 2023 Banquet hosted by the Associated School Boards of South Dakota on Monday, April 24th in Pierre. For this invitation you are required to be in the top 1% of students in the state. Great Job Ellie-we are very proud of you!

To the Families of Sanborn Central, It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to take a new challenge and position as the high school principal in Mitchell, beginning in the 2023-2024 school year. I will forever be grateful for the relationships I have made, and the time spent with the wonderful staff, students and community in Forestburg and the surrounding areas. It was a blessing to be in the position of high school principal and superintendent for the past 8 years. I would like to thank the SC Board of Education for their leadership and guidance, and support throughout my tenure. They have paved the way for all the great things happening within the school system. I would like to thank the SC Booster Club for their continued support of all Blackhawk activities in and out of the school. To the staff, who are so valuable, I am eternally grateful for all you do in the name of education. Your efforts are so appreciated by everyone, but no one more than I. To the students: You have made every day at "work" not seem like a job at all.
